Whether you’re petite all over or you just suffer from small wrists, it can be hard finding a watch that doesn’t look ridiculously huge on your tiny proportions. My own wrist is a mere 5 ½” and most watches look comically big on me – which is a shame because I love wearing them. It’s nice not having to find my phone whenever I need the time. And it’s an easy way to accessorize on days I don’t feel like wearing a lot of jewelry.
Luckily, I did end up getting a watch that looks great on my small frame. I just wish it had been easier to find as there aren’t a lot of options for us small-wristed women. Since I know others struggling with the same problem, I thought I’d give you some tips I learned while looking for the perfect watch. And show you some pretty styles I found along the way.
How To Choose A Watch For A Small Wrist
Look for leather or plastic straps
Pay special attention to the case size
Pretty Watch Styles For Small Wrists
Below are some great examples of watches that are made for petite wrists. Remember to always check the width and height of the case and the recommended wrist size for each watch. If the info isn’t readily available, you can always contact the seller or manufacturer to find out.
*I didn’t include Apple or Samsung smartwatches on this list because they don’t come in sizes under 34mm wide. If you want one of those watches, you’ll probably just have to deal with the bigger size. Hopefully, in the future, they will be made smaller.
BERNY Womens Rectangular Quartz Watch With Leather Strap
This is my all-time favorite watch style and very similar to the one I wear. The classic leather strap and the rectangular roman numeral dial (which is only 22 mm wide) makes it perfect for all kinds of outfits and occasions. And if you don’t like black, it comes in two other colors including a trendy red version.
Casio Enticer Ladies Analog Pink Dial Women’s Watch
This sleek-looking stainless steel watch is only 21 mm wide and 8mm thick. It offers a feminine light pink dial and quartz movement. If you like this style, but don’t like the pink, Casio offers a similar version with a black dial that’s just a tiny bit larger.
Michael Kors Women’s Alane Stainless Steel Quartz Watch
This lovely little watch features a mother of pearl dial and four real diamonds. The case measures a tiny 18 mm x 28 mm. It also comes in two color options including the black (shown above) and a pretty light pink color. Several of the negative reviews describing this watch note how tiny it is, probably making it the perfect size for smaller wrists.
Seiko Women’s Solar Two-Tone Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch
This mixed-metal watch is only 22 mm wide, which is a rare find with round-shaped watches. It is also powered by solar so you’ll never have to deal with replacing the battery. And style-wise, it looks great with both gold and silver jewelry which is perfect if you like wearing both metals.
Timex Women’s Meriden Watch
This dainty watch is only 24 mm wide and comes in 5 colors including both metal and leather versions. The case is only 8 mm thick and the band is a mere 15 mm wide making it the perfect feminine-looking option for tiny wrists.
Seiko Women’s Solar Gold-Tone Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch
At only 15 mm wide, this is one of the smallest watches on this list. It is also solar-powered so you won’t have to fiddle with a battery and it looks great with other gold jewelry. And its timeless elegant style makes it perfect for both work and everyday wear. For a similar but less expensive style, check out this option by Relic.
This cute smartwatch monitors your sleep, measures your oxygen saturation levels, tracks your heart rate, and more. It can also alert you to incoming texts and phone calls and has a battery life that can last up to 7 days. This watch fits wrists with a circumference of 122-188 mm and the display measures 0.26 x 0.70 inches (6.6 mm x 17.7 mm).
Casio Women’s Daily Alarm Digital Watch
This watch has a great retro look and is insanely popular on Amazon. Its features include a stopwatch, hourly alarm, count down timer, and auto calendar. The width and thickness of the case are only 25 mm and 5 mm respectively making it a great size for petite wrists.
Armitron Sport Women’s Digital Chronograph Resin Strap Watch
This watch comes in 13 colors and provides a clear display of both the date and time. The case is 25 mm wide and like most digital watches comes with a handy backlight, alarm feature, and dual time zone. If you prefer a rounder case (27 mm wide), Armitron makes a similar style that comes in a massive 23 colors.
Fitbit Inspire 2 Health & Fitness Tracker
This Fitbit model tracks your steps, calories burned, heart rate, and sleep activity. It also boasts 10 days of battery life and comes with two band sizes (the small size fits wrists as tiny as 5.5″). The display measures a reasonable 37 mm (l)by 16.8 mm (w) but the 12.9 mm thickness might it uncomfortable for those with extra small wrists.
If you like trying watches on in person, you may want to visit a Macy’s or Kohl’s store as they usually have quite a few in stock. I also recommend checking out a brand called Tissot. This brand offers several reasonably sized (20 mm) watches including these styles here. I didn’t include them on the list since they’re a little pricey, but if you have the money, they’re worth checking out.
